Chapter Philanthropy
What does philanthropy mean to Eta Omicron?
At Eta Omicron, philanthropy is more than just a concept; it's a core value that defines who we are as a sisterhood. We believe in the power of giving back, not only to our local community but also on a national scale. Through our philanthropic endeavors, we aim to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need, embodying the true spirit of sisterhood and service.
Chapter Philanthropy – B+ Foundation
Eta Omicron proudly supports the B+ Foundation, an organization dedicated to funding research for childhood cancer. Through events such as Kappa Kickoff and the B+ Gala, we contribute to the foundation's noble cause, providing crucial financial and emotional support to families of children with cancer nationwide, while also fueling vital research endeavors. As we continue our partnership with B+, we hope to establish personal connections, offering our support as big sisters to a child undergoing treatment in the Boston area. In addition to our support for the B+ Foundation, we have recently partnered with Boston House—a haven providing no-cost accommodations for children and families navigating the difficulties of pediatric cancer treatment—and we are excited to continue nurturing this bond.
National Philanthropy – National Alliance on Mental Illness
In addition to our local efforts, Eta Omicron stands in solidarity with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Mental health awareness and support are causes close to our hearts, and we are dedicated to raising awareness and funds to further NAMI's mission. From signature events like Mental Health Week to ongoing advocacy efforts, we are committed to destigmatizing mental illness and promoting mental wellness for all.
