Sisterhood

The Eta Omicron chapter has grown to be a family of strong, inspirational women pursuing diverse majors, calling different countries home, and nurturing a wide array of interests. At the heart of our collective identity lies sisterhood, a unifying force that has grown to be one of our most cherished values.

Sisterhood, in its truest sense, defines the bond among our members within the Eta Omicron chapter. The women in our chapter embody passion, determination, and inspire boldness. These attributes tie the chapter together as we uphold our sisterhood through support, empowerment, and the celebration of everyone’s accomplishments. The members within this chapter are a source of inspiration, actively seeking to effect positive change in themselves and their communities. This translates to our every interaction, as the chapter has fostered a culture of growth and learning, backed by the unrelenting support that makes every challenge seem a bit more approachable. 

Our chapter celebrates the bond of sisterhood through various events that provide instances to connect with each other, strengthen friendships, and create new ones. These events are often a highlight for those within Eta Omicron. They provide a chance to step away from the everyday hustle of University and allow time to bond with those around you. With a wide variety of interests, these events often vary in activities. Some favorites in recent times have been apple picking, ice skating, making teddy bears, painting nights, and truly anything that we can do together. These shared experiences create countless memories that members can cherish for a lifetime. Taking the time to step away from everyday distractions, and actively reflect on the friendships in the chapter has an impact much grander than that on an individual level - it helps us grow closer and build a stronger chapter.

The sisterhood of Eta Omicron is genuinely limitless. Outside of formally planned events designed to nurture this bond, the women in this chapter hold a true dedication to supporting their sisters. When sisters are involved in sports, dance, chorus, entrepreneurship, and clubs outside of the chapter, there is never a shortage of Kappa women cheering them on and showing up for them in any way possible.

Sisterhood in the Eta Omicron chapter is more than just a friendship, it is the bonds, comfort, and joy that can turn even the most mundane moments into unforgettable memories. Within our chapter sisterhood is to show up for each other in our successes and failures. It’s the spontaneous weekend trips to each other's hometowns, and last-minute dinners to celebrate a sister's success. It’s having people to turn to when you need help and giving advice when you can. It’s in the conversations before and after the chapter, in the laughs while you wait in line for Formal, and in the smiles given when you see each other on campus. It’s challenging each other, empowering each other, and holding each other accountable. In the cheesiest way, sisterhood is the ultimate love story consisting of endless love, support, and sisterly bonds. Sisterhood is truly what makes Eta Omicron so strong and so important to the women who comprise this amazing chapter.
