Letter from our New Member Chairman

To the Fall 2024 Potential New Members: on behalf of Northeastern’s Eta Omicron chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma, I welcome you to the Panhellenic community! I hope this letter finds you in great spirits and anticipation as you begin the journey of finding your home away from home at Northeastern. I could not be more thrilled to be Kappa’s New Member Experience Director for 2024 and to have the honor of welcoming the Sigma class into our chapter.

I went through formal recruitment in Fall of 2022 and entered Kappa as a member of the Pi class. As someone who rushed through their second year at Northeastern, I can’t emphasize enough how much Kappa has enriched my undergraduate experience. From day one of recruitment to now being on our leadership team, I am incredibly grateful for Kappa: its character, its mentorship, and its sisterhood.

My new member period can only be described as transformative. It was a time of growth and connection that I will always cherish when I look back on my first moments in Kappa. I was fortunate to go through this experience with my two roommates, in addition to meeting and befriending new, active, and senior members alike. From weekly Take it to the Floor practices, walking to formal chapter in heels with my fellow Pi’s, and meeting my Kappa family, I was swiftly immersed into this group of girls who I’m lucky to call my sisters and best friends.

My job is to ensure that your experience as a new member runs as smoothly as possible. This period is one that many active members remember vividly and look back on with endearment. I hope that every one of our new members has this same experience. I aim to foster an inviting, uplifting, and lively environment that allows everyone to develop their own understanding of what Kappa means to them and how it can enhance their time at Northeastern. I can’t wait to witness your journey, and in turn, cultivate my own new perspective on Kappa’s role in college life. My door is always open, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
