Letter from the President

Welcome to the Eta Omicron chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma at Northeastern University!

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our chapter. While this website highlights many of the experiences, accomplishments, and traditions that make Eta Omicron special, it only captures a small glimpse of the incredible women who make Kappa feel like home.

When I arrived at Northeastern, I was excited to begin a new chapter of my life, but like many students, I was also searching for a place where I could truly belong. College is full of opportunities, but it can also feel overwhelming as you navigate new experiences, challenges, and friendships. What I found in Kappa was far more than a social organization, I found a community of women who genuinely support, challenge, and inspire one another.

From the moment I joined Eta Omicron, I was surrounded by women who were ambitious, compassionate, and driven to make the most of their college experience. Whether it was preparing for an exam, applying for a co-op, celebrating accomplishments, or navigating difficult moments, I quickly learned that Kappa sisters show up for one another in meaningful ways. The relationships I have built within this chapter have shaped my college experience and helped me grow into the person and leader I am today.

What makes Eta Omicron truly special is the diversity of passions, experiences, and goals represented within our sisterhood. Our members are leaders across campus, researchers, athletes, entrepreneurs, artists, mentors, and innovators. While each member brings something unique to our chapter, we are united by our shared commitment to friendship, personal growth, and supporting one another through every stage of life.

As President, I am continually inspired by the women around me. Every day, I witness sisters uplifting one another, pursuing ambitious goals, and contributing to a chapter culture rooted in kindness, accountability, and authenticity. Kappa has taught me the value of leadership, service, and genuine connection, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help cultivate those experiences for others.

Most importantly, Kappa has shown me that sisterhood extends far beyond our years at Northeastern. Through our chapter, our alumni network, and the broader Kappa community, we gain access to lifelong friendships, mentorship, and support that continue long after graduation. The connections formed within Eta Omicron become part of a network that spans cities, careers, and generations.

I hope that as you explore our website, you gain a deeper understanding of what makes Eta Omicron such a special place. More than anything, I hope you see the genuine friendships, opportunities for growth, and unwavering support that define our chapter. Kappa has given me some of my closest friends, my strongest role models, and countless memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Thank you for visiting our website and learning more about the Eta Omicron Chapter. We are proud of the community we have built and excited for all that lies ahead!

Loyally,

Laine Kreher | 2026 President - Eta Omicron Chapter
